Uri Wilensky was named as the second recipient of the Rosaria Conte Outstanding Contribution to Social Simulation Award. This is mainly for his work on Netlogo, but he has also made significant research contributions in education, and using simulation as a tool to understand science. Netlogo has proved especially helpful in teaching agent-based modelling and is used in a number of research-grade applications of agent-based modelling. As at 2018, more than 20% of all articles in JASSS mentioned Netlogo somewhere in the text.
